The City of Balch Springs celebrated local area economic growth by recognizing three businesses in the City of Balch Springs at the Best Southwest Regional Economic Development (RED) Summit Luncheon on March 22, 2018 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Duncanville. Type A Board Member Carrie Gordon, PhD, City Manager Susan Cluse, Police Chief Jon Haber, City and EDC Staff were in attendance for the event.
The Best Southwest Partnership is comprised of 12 City partners seeking to promote southern Dallas and northeastern Ellis Counties of Texas whose mission is to successfully promote economic development, tourism and diversification of business. The two-hour event included a summit panel discussion of development in the southern sector and recognition of the 2017 economic development partners. The attendees included were economic development leaders from within the city, neighboring cities, and businesses from the area.
The City of Balch Springs recognized three new business developments in Balch Springs: LDG Development LLC, Nash Development Company and Almo Investment II Ltd.
LDG Development LLC, will develop the Villages at Ambassador Way project located at 4702 Ambassador Way north of the intersection of I-635 and Seagoville Road at Ambassador Way, a mixed-use development to include 221- multi-family units in Phase One and 24,000 sf of retail space in Phase Two on 11.644 acres. The gated community amenities will include 444 parking spaces, a clubhouse, community pool, community gathering area with gazebo & grill, theater room, exercise room, computer lab, tot-lot and children playground and internal walking trail paths. Groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for May 30th, 2018 and construction is slated to begin in 2018 shortly thereafter the groundbreaking ceremony.
Nash Development Company constructed Pioneer Plaza which is a beautiful new multi-tenant retail development located at 4101 Pioneer Road. The 9,576 square foot shopping center will create a minimum of 15 jobs and a capital investment of $1,200,000.00 to the city.
Almo Investment II Ltd, is bringing a Denny’s Restaurant and Fuzzy’s Restaurants to the City of Balch Springs. The Balch Springs IEDC (Type A) sold 1.445 acres of real property to Almo Investment II Ltd. to construct two restaurants. The two restaurant sites are directly north of the intersection of Beltline Road and 1-20 Frontage Road specifically located at 4105 and 4125 South Beltline Road and is currently under construction. Once the project is completed the capital investment to the city is $1,000,000.00 and will bring at least 25 new jobs. Target completion date of the project is Summer 2018.
